Africanist from the University of Warsaw visits the Institute of Asia and Africa, University of Hamburg

Between November 13-17, 2023, Dr. Patryk Zając from our Department visited the Department of African and Ethiopian Studies at the Institute of Asia and Africa, University of Hamburg. The visit took place as part of a cooperation program operating on the basis of an agreement between the University of Hamburg and the University of Warsaw.

Dr. Zając thought guest classes on the Hausa language for undergraduate students and held scientific consultations with Dr. Umma Aliyu Musa, and also presented the results of his latest research during the African studies colloquium. Dr. Zając had the opportunity to participate in workshops devoted to Muslim manuscripts from West Africa.

During numerous meetings, strengthening cooperation between African studies in Hamburg and Warsaw was discussed, as well as student exchange under the Erasmus program.
