75 Years of Ethiopian Studies

To mark the 75th anniversary of Ethiopian Studies at the University of Warsaw, we invite you to participate in the conference Seventy-Five Years of Ethiopian Studies: Voices Beyond Language, Cultures Beyond Borders which will be held on 13-15 May 2026 at the Faculty of Asian and African Studies, University of Warsaw.

As Ethiopian Studies laid the foundations for African Studies in Warsaw, this event will also celebrate the scholarly and organizational connections of our faculty with other academic institutions and research centers – both in Poland and abroad – that have contributed to the growth and international recognition of Ethiopian and African Studies. Especially, on this occasion, we would like to commemorate Stefan Strelcyn’s and other Polish Ethiopianists’ and Africanists’ scholarly and organizational legacy.
