Meeting at the Embassy of Nigeria

On July 1, 2022, employees of the Chair of African Languages ​​and Cultures prof. Nina Pawlak and Mr. Patryk Zając had the honor of meeting the Nigerian Ambassador to Poland, His Excellency Christian O. Ogwu. The meeting was also attended by the consul, the first secretary of the Embassy and Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu from Bayero University in Kano (Nigeria) who was visiting University of Warsaw.

The hitherto development of Polish-Nigerian relations in the academic field and the ways of their revival and expansion were discussed, in particular the already existing bilateral agreement between the University of Warsaw and the University of Bayero. The newly-in-office Ambassador indicated education as one of the priority areas of cooperation between the countries. He assured the willingness to maintain permanent contacts with the Chair of African Languages ​​and Cultures.

Two days earlier the Ambassador appeared at the conference on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, where prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu invited by the Chair of African Languages ​​and Cultures presented his research.
